The Philips Sport Vereniging, otherwise known as the PSV, the top-tier Dutch football team has decided to take a very interesting step into the newest generation of currency. It will now be sponsored by Anycoin Direct, a European cryptocurrency broker, and it will be accepting payments entirely in Bitcoin.
This is an exciting age as it breaks new ground into digital currency legitimacy, “The entire sponsorship amount will be paid in bitcoin. PSV is the first club in the EU to receive the sponsorship amount in crypto.” There are so many teams in the EU, it’s amazing that no other team has taken a step in this direction before.
While the dollar always remains a dollar and slowly but gradually drops in value, Bitcoin has a promising future that financial experts have consistently failed to predict. Even though they said that Bitcoin was just a fad, it has turned the heads of even the most trusted financial gurus.
In an interview that aired on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Bill Gates had to go against his personal neutral stance on digital currency when he reported,
“I do think moving money into a more digital form and getting transaction costs down, that’s something the Gates Foundation does in developing countries.”
Statements like that bring significant legitimacy to digital currency when everyone else thought that it would be out of the game. When a team like PSV makes a ground-breaking move like this, how many other sports teams throughout the world will follow? And benefit?
Could you imagine getting paid in a legal tender that has the ability to double within a year or even a few months? As far as going down, it falls slightly from time to time but the growth quickly outgains those drops every time and the value of Bitcoin remains consistently on the rise.
Athletes tend to get paid very well and they’re about to get paid even better. As Bitcoin’s market cap continues to outgrow every prediction, getting paid in the digital currency seems better than any investment anyone can make.
